The official Surf Coast Walk trailhead will be relocated from Point
Impossible to Whites Beach East to provide a clearer, more accessible
and welcoming starting point for walkers.

The new trailhead will be located near the existing carpark at the
Torquay end of Tip Road, giving walkers improved access to signage,
facilities and orientation before beginning the walk.

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority will deliver a series
of improvements as part of the relocation, including a trail surface
upgrade between the carpark and the new trailhead, a new accessible
drinking fountain, and continued access to the existing accessible
toilets at Whites Beach East.

The relocation will reduce the official length of the Surf Coast Walk
by approximately three kilometres, bringing the full walk to around 41
kilometres.

The existing section of trail and beach between Point Impossible and
Whites Beach East will remain open and accessible for walkers.

Works are expected to take place in late July, weather permitting,
with further updates to be provided before and after the relocation.

Located on Wadawurrung Country, the Surf Coast Walk stretches from
Torquay to Fairhaven and takes in coastal views, bushland, beaches and
significant walking country along the coast.
