The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‑term conservation.
Join the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) at one of Australia’s most iconic destinations - the Twelve Apostles. As a Senior Retail Team Member, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional visitor experience within a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
You’ll provide warm, knowledgeable service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the retail outlet, contributing to strong commercial performance and ensuring visitors leave with lasting memories of their time along the Great Ocean Road.
This casual role may also support operations across other GORCAPA sites, including caravan parks and the Cape Otway Lightstation.
What you'll do
- Deliver outstanding, welcoming customer service tailored to diverse visitor needs
- Provide accurate product knowledge and recommend items to enhance the visitor experience
- Support sales operations, including POS transactions, returns, and promotions
- Assist with stock management - receiving, replenishing, stocktakes, and organisation
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and visual merchandising
- Manage service flow during peak visitation periods with professionalism and efficiency
- Support staff coordination and escalate customer or operational issues where required
- Prepare beverages and light food items in line with quality and food safety standards
- Uphold safety, sustainability, inclusivity, and cultural respect in all interactions
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and inviting retail environment
What we're looking for
- Certificate in Retail Operations (or similar), and/or minimum 1 year experience in retail, hospitality, tourism or a related field
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and remain calm under pressure
- Sound retail skills including merchandising and stock control
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
- Experience using Point of Sale systems (or ability to quickly learn)
- Understanding of or commitment to safety, accessibility, and inclusive service
You’ll also need to be able to obtain or provide:
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- Evidence of Australian working rights
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence
