The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‑term conservation.

About the role

We’re seeking a Caravan Park Leading Hand to join our team at Anglesea Family Caravan Park, located along the iconic Great Ocean Road.

This permanent full-time role is responsible for leading day-to-day grounds and maintenance operations, ensuring the park is safe, well-presented, and delivers a high-quality visitor experience.

You’ll balance hands-on work with team supervision, working in a dynamic coastal environment that attracts visitors year-round.

What you’ll do
  • Supervise and support grounds maintenance staff, including daily planning and safety briefings
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks to ensure efficient and high-quality site maintenance
  • Undertake landscaping and grounds work such as mowing, pruning, planting, weed control, and irrigation
  • Perform general maintenance including minor carpentry, painting, and equipment repairs
  • Maintain the overall presentation of the park through rubbish removal, debris clearing, and site upkeep
  • Engage with visitors onsite, respond to enquiries, and manage maintenance or service issues
  • Assist with small construction, revegetation, and landscaping projects
  • Monitor and schedule asset, plant, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental, and operational procedures
  • Provide after-hours support and reside onsite a minimum of two nights per week
What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, trade, facilities, or land management
  • Experience supervising or leading a small team
  • Strong practical skills in landscaping, maintenance, and use of tools and machinery
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
Qualifications & licences:
  • Relevant trade/diploma qualification (desirable)
  • Current manual driver’s licence
  • Chainsaw and First Aid (or willingness to obtain post-appointment)
  • Ability to obtain Aquatic Technical Operator certification post-appointment
  • Safe Chemical Use certificate (desirable or willingness to obtain)
