The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. About the Asset Management Team -
The Asset Management Team is responsible for creating and managing the Authority’s asset management lifecycle systems and processes and the Authority’s spatial data systems. The team ensures all stages of an asset’s lifecycle are managed in the most effective manner whilst ensuring compliance to requirements. The team also provides a range of spatial mapping and data services to support the organisation to ensure accurate reporting and recording.
About the Role -
- The Asset Engineer contributes to the creation and delivery of efficient and effective management of the Authority’s assets by optimising the use of technology and best practice Asset Management processes. This role is integral in delivering the Authority’s Asset Management program by providing planning and technical input into the asset management systems and supporting processes.
- The role supports the Asset Manager in providing high level support to stakeholders to ensure a coordinated asset management process is achieved and maintained. Working collaboratively across the whole organisation, ensuring a solid corporate understanding of infrastructure and operational needs and financial parameters.
- The role will play a lead in managing the Authority’s Asset Information Management System for the asset portfolio which includes Buildings, Roads, Carparks, Marine Structures and Open Space Assets. It provides concise and effective information and reports that guide, influence and assist the Authority’s ability to make informed decisions in relation to its assets.
About you?
- Extensive knowledge of a Strategic Asset Management System and its application preferably within a Local Government Authority or Government Agency.
- High level communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness in teamwork, collaboration, consultation, negotiation and advocacy with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced research and analytical skills that facilitate the preparation of documentation, reports, business cases and asset financial forecasting.
- High level computer literacy preferably in the use of Asset Information Management Systems, GIS Systems and Microsoft Office suite.
What we're looking for?
- Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or a relevant Trade with a focus on Asset Management.
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the purpose of a Strategic Asset Management System (SAMS).
- Comprehensive demonstrated experience of administering an Asset Information Management System, preferably Siemens Assetic.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining Asset Management Plans and the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation, including reports and presentations.
- Demonstrated experience in the reparation and execution of contracts for condition assessments and maintenance/renewal works.
