Families, locals, and holidaymakers are invited to roll up their sleeves and help revegetate the Apollo Bay foreshore at a special Community Planting Day this school holidays.

The event will be held on Thursday 25 September from 10am, meeting at the carpark adjacent to the Apollo Bay Museum. The activity will run for around two hours, depending on numbers.

The planting will replace weedy grasses and storm-damaged cypress with native species that will boost biodiversity, improve amenity and reduce the need for ongoing site maintenance.

Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and wear sturdy closed shoes such as runners, boots, or gumboots. All other equipment – including plants – will be provided.

This is a great chance to get outdoors, learn about the local environment, and make a lasting contribution to the Apollo Bay foreshore.
