Storm water management update

Works have now started on the new stormwater management process at the Twelve Apostles Visitor Precinct redevelopment.

This is being put in place to direct stormwater away from Gibson Steps and the pedestrian underpass, following concerns about runoff in that area.

The new process directs stormwater via the worksite’s detention basin to a channel at the southeast corner of the site, then into an existing drainage system. Stormwater will continue to be filtered and monitored according to strict EPA guidelines before it leaves the site.

This process is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, while the project’s program of extensive revegetation is starting soon, which will also see the land naturally hold more rainfall.
