Located approximately 7 km east of Port Campbell, Twelve Apostles Marine National Park is the second largest of Victoria’s Marine National Parks.

Spanning 75 square kilometres along the southern coast, it encompasses the iconic limestone stacks known as the Twelve Apostles, as well as a rich underwater landscape of arches, canyons, and deep sloping reefs. These formations are sculpted by powerful waves and support a diverse range of marine species.

Key Features

Underwater Biodiversity

The park's submerged limestone reefs are home to a variety of marine life, including sea spiders, sponges in vibrant yellow and orange hues, and kelp forests. These ecosystems are teeming with marine species, making it a haven for divers and snorkelers.

Wildlife Encounters

During the cooler months, visitors may spot Little Penguins nesting in coastal caves. Additionally, marine mammals such as whales are known to visit the area, offering unique wildlife viewing opportunities.

Scenic Coastal Views

The park offers breathtaking views of the Southern Ocean, with towering limestone stacks rising up to 45 meters above the water. The dramatic coastline provides excellent photography opportunities, especially during sunrise and sunset when the light casts a golden hue over the landscape.

Cultural Significance

The Twelve Apostles Marine National Park is situated within the traditional lands of the Gunditjmara, Eastern Maar, and Girai Wurrung peoples. These communities have a deep cultural connection to the area, and visitors are encouraged to respect and acknowledge this heritage
