Did you feel the earth move under your feet over the weekend?

If so, you weren’t the only one – a magnitude 5.0 earthquake was recorded on the Otway Ranges coast just after 2am on Sunday 22 October.

As a result of the earthquake, tours of the Cape Otway Lightstation lantern room have been suspended until late 2023 as we inspect the lens for damage and clean up the mercury that spilled out of the light mechanism.

While the lantern room itself is closed, the broader Lightstation Heritage Precinct remains open for business with daily history talks in the Old Work Shop and Telegraph Station.

While the lantern room is closed, we’re offering a discounted entry fee.

• Adult: $10

• Concession: $8.50

• Family: $25 (2 adults and up to 4 children)

• Child: $5 (under 16 years)

Thank you for your patience.
