A small cliff fall occurred north of the boat ramp towards Soapy Rocks at Pt Roadknight, so we’re reminding you of the importance of cliff and cave safety.

This week, around one cubic metre of material fell off the cliffs at Pt Roadknight due to cracks and erosion in the area. This means there's a possibility of further cliff falls happening nearby.

We promptly conducted a thorough inspection of the site with our geotechnical experts. We've also checked all the signs and fences in the area to ensure they're doing their job in keeping you safe.

Safety Guidelines

We want you to have a great time exploring our stunning coastline, and that starts with staying safe around cliffs and caves. Here are some simple but important guidelines to keep in mind:

  1. Stay away from cliffs and caves: It's important to stay a safe distance away from these natural formations, especially in areas where there has been recent cliff activity. We don't want any unexpected rockfalls spoiling your experience.

  1. Stick to established tracks: Stick to the paths and trails that have been created for your safety. These pathways are designed to guide you through the area without getting too close to unstable cliff edges.

  1. See the signs and follow guidance: Take a moment to read and understand the safety signs posted in the area. They're there to provide you with important information about potential hazards and help you make smart decisions.

  1. Share the word and warn others: Safety is a team effort! Share this important information with your friends, family, and fellow visitors. Let's all work together to create a safe environment for everyone.

We want you to have the best possible experience while exploring Pt Roadknight and other coastal areas, and that means feeling safe and secure.

The recent cliff fall serves as a reminder of the risks associated with cliffs and caves. By following the simple safety guidelines we've shared, you can help us create a welcoming and secure environment for everyone.
