What a term to start with the Education team! There have been so many wonderful groups down along the Great Ocean Road and I’ve enjoyed working with every single one of them.

I was very impressed with the Lorne kinder group. They joined me for a rockpool ramble and were some of the most enthusiastic wildlife spotters and question askers around. We spotted many different varieties of anemones, mussels, shells and birds. Their artistic skills were also fabulous as they drew their favourite rockpool creature in the sand.

Throughout the Term I’ve had the privilege of working with the Year 3’s at Anglesea Primary school as part of their Outdoor Education program.

These kids know all about nature, and it was a great to share my passion for the environment  as they continue developing their relationship with the outdoors. Nothing stopped this group from getting involved in sessions, as we explored everything from birds and plants to the mini beasts and creepy crawlies around their school. We finished with a bush walk through Coogoorah Park where we practiced our skills and took a moment to listen to nature. In fact, I must have said ‘’Nature’’ one too many times, as one student forgot my name and decided to call me Miss Nature instead!
