Our Environmental Education and Coastal Projects teams was excited to attend the inaugural Torquay - One Planet Festival. Bringing together over 55 community groups and businesses, the event aimed to empower and inspire the community about how they can combat climate change.

Our team engaged with over 200 locals and visitors to the event. Fascinated by our beach and bush treasures, as well as surveying drone, attendees learnt about the important biodiversity of our marine and coastal environments and what we do at the Authority to help protect these delicate places.

They also learnt how they could do their part, including messages around refusing and reducing single use plastics, taking three for the sea, and respecting and protecting our delicate beachfronts by sticking to paths to reduce erosion.
