Term 1 was our busiest ever, with over 1000 students and over 50 classes!

We explored a range of topics about our amazing coast,  based on the pillars of Biodiversity, Conservation and Cultural Heritage. We loved seeing how curious and passionate the young people were about learning and caring for our environment. We also had a bumper number of conservation activities completed with classes contributing an amazing 240 conservation hours to our coast this Term alone! Activities included:

  • Removing of invasive marram grass, seaspurge and tea-tree from the dunes
  • Wild aster and fleabane removal from revegetated corridor
  • Brush-matting of dune blowouts
  • Picking up litter and sorting it out

These hands-on activities provide powerful learning opportunities for students. Our hope is that by building a deeper understanding and connection for these natural places, we’ll  shape tomorrows coastal stewards and environmental champions.
