It sounds like a covert spy operation although it’s anything but! Operation Newstart in Geelong is a program that helps middle school students who are struggling to stay in school and need some extra support. Big ups to Jess, our acting Education Coordinator, who recently had a great day with some amazing students at Point Roadknight. They had fun and learned a lot about the environment and the culture of the place. They went for a walk along the beach and the bush, where they saw some native plants and animals. They also learned how to be safe around cliffs and avoid erosion.
The students also did some awesome work to help protect the area. They removed some invasive plants from the dunes and used them to cover eroded spots. They also cleared away some unwanted grass from the beach. They did all this in just an hour, impressive!
