New CEO appointed to lead Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority

The Board of the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) has appointed Christine Ferguson as the organisation’s new ongoing Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Christine has been interim-CEO since April and brings to the role extensive experience in the public sector, including senior executive roles in environment, land and emergency management for over 10 years.

Christine is a director and deputy chair of Triple Zero Victoria, has previously been appointed as a municipal monitor by Local Government Victoria, is a committee member for Regional Development Australia and has received the Public Service Medal for outstanding service.

GORCAPA undertook a thorough external recruitment process to find a new CEO, with Christine selected from a very strong field of candidates.

GORCAPA is the dedicated parks manager for the Great Ocean Road coast and parks and is a key part of the Victorian Government’s landmark reforms to achieve holistic management and protection of this special part of Victoria.
