Lorne Pier reponed on Wednesday morning, giving locals and visitors access to the much-loved landmark in time for the long weekend.
The reopening means people will once again be able to walk the pier, enjoy the views and cast a line from one of Lorne’s favourite fishing spots.
Portable toilets have been installed nearby while works continue in the surrounding area.
Visitors are reminded that some fencing and closures will remain in place across the broader work site. Please follow all signage, stay within open areas and do not enter fenced sections. Due to poor weather, the Doug Stirling track is muddy, but plans are in place to lay gravel ahead of the long weekend.
We thank the community for its patience while works have been underway and look forward to seeing people safely back on Lorne Pier.
