Marine land – November 2025

On 1 November 2025, GORCAPA was appointed the land manager for 112,000 Ha of marine land from the low-water mark to the outer limit of Victorian coastal waters (3 nautical miles) along the Great Ocean Road from Torquay to Warrnambool.

GORCAPA acknowledges the Eastern Maar and Wadawurrung Peoples as the Rights Holders of these marine lands and remains committed to building genuine partnerships that embody self-determination and are led by their expectations . 

As the responsible manager for this marine land, the natural and cultural values of this marine land are recognised as part of the Great Ocean Road coast and parks.  This marine land will be included in GORCAPA’s holistic planning for protection, conservation and management of the Great Ocean Road coast and parks for the benefit of the environment, current and future generations.
