The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, in collaboration with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, is thrilled to announce the launch of a groundbreaking initiative - the Point Impossible Masterplan Project.

Point Impossible, or as it's affectionately known, "Possos", is not just any surf spot. It holds a special place in the hearts of many, and together with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners, we're inviting locals and all who love this spot to help us create a Masterplan that respects its unique Cultural heritage, environment, and awesome surf vibes.

Kurrak Panyul, as Wadawurrung People call it, holds immense significance as a rich bio-cultural landscape where multi-clan gatherings came for ceremony and celebration over many thousands of years.

To kick off the project, we’re holding the Point Impossible Open Day on Saturday 11 November 2023, from 9am to midday. The excitement is building for the Open Day, and it's evident in the incredible response we've received from our community.

At this event, teams from the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and the Authority will collaborate to host an information hub to share insights about Possos, including Wadawurrung Cultural values, local history, environmental significance, and ongoing challenges in the area.

For those eager to deepen their understanding of the Cultural values of Point Impossible, we’re hosting three guided walk and talk sessions with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners during the Open Day. The sessions have been in such high demand that all available spots have been booked out. We are deeply moved by the enthusiasm and interest shown by our community in embracing the Cultural heritage and significance of Point Impossible.

While the Walk and Talk sessions are at full capacity, we encourage everyone to join us at the Open Day, explore the information hub, and actively participate in the discussions surrounding the future of Point Impossible. Your presence and insights will be invaluable in shaping the Masterplan for this cherished surf spot.

For those who were able to secure a spot in the Walk and Talk sessions, we look forward to sharing this enriching experience with you. For others, we can't wait to see you at the Point Impossible Open Day.
