From May 5th until 31st 2023, we’re inviting the community to share their feedback on the proposed upgrade to the Fishermans Beach car park in Torquay.

The car park and surrounds at Fishermans Beach, known to many as Fishos, is a much-loved area for all sorts of activities. It has Torquay’s only boat ramp and when the fish are biting, it gets very busy. It also has two cafes, a family friendly beach, and a lot of water and sand activities. Last but not least, it’s a popular spot to bring your four-legged friends to.

We’re going to make Fishos safer, easier to access, and more enjoyable for everyone. We’re working alongside the community to create a plan to make the car park and surrounds better at six key places.

We want to know what you think of how it will look and feel, so we’re calling on your creative input.

The plan is based on feedback from last year, when we presented two different ways to design the car park. We heard that there is not enough parking for both regular cars and cars towing boat trailers when it’s busy. You also said that making the place safe for everyone is very important.

This is your chance to have a say on how to improve this important community asset. Your feedback will shape its success.

You can anonymously submit your preferences and suggestions on our dedicated, interactive engagement portal.

If you want to have a chat in person, we’ll be at Fishos on Sunday 7 May from 10am until 12pm and on Saturday 13 May from 9am until 11am.

Rather ask us anything from home? Join us online on Wednesday 17 May at 5pm instead. You can register your interest on the above link.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make Fishos a better place for you and future generations.
