Following the successes of the Community Co-design Group (CCDG) for the Point Grey Redevelopment project, a new objective for a community reference group has been set for the project, that expands the remit to take a precinct-wide view.

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is inviting expressions of interest from community members to join a reshaped community reference group as part of the Point Grey Redevelopment project in Lorne.

The new community reference group will work with the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority to review and refine the existing Masterplan for Point Grey and building concept designs with consideration of the Marine and Coastal Act 2018 and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) determination.

The group will kick off in December 2023, with a series of workshops planned in early 2024. The outcomes of these workshops will inform wider community engagement from mid-2024.

If you have skills in either architecture, landscape design, public open space, strategic thinking and visioning, cultural heritage, and or coastal processes combined with a passion for the coast and local knowledge – your application will be highly valued.

As a community reference group member, you will join with two other community members who have been a part of the previous Community Co-Design Group dedicated to the Fishermans Co-op Building and two members from the Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club.

Applications close Friday 27 October 2023.
