The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is investing $14K into the Apollo Bay Skate Park as part of its ongoing maintenance program.

A section of the Apollo Bay Skatepark boardwalk will soon be upgraded, with improvement works scheduled to commence next week. This part of the boardwalk will be temporarily closed while the works take place.

The improvements will see the removal of the existing decking and replacement with new decking. We anticipate that the works will not interfere with the use of the skatepark.

The skate park is highly valued by the community, and we remain committed to maintaining the skate park to keep it safe and to ensure it can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.

A recent condition audit indicates that with remedial works and continuous monitoring of the facility, that there is potentially another ten years of community use and enjoyment that can be expected from this 20-year-old structure.

We will continue to work closely with the community and Colac Otway Shire Council to monitor the structural integrity of the skate park and make evidence-based decisions at the end of its useful life.
