The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking public input on the proposed lease renewal for the Apollo Bay Fishermen's Cooperative.

The Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Cooperative is a Crown land facility leased by the Land Manager, the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, on behalf of the State of Victoria, to lessees Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Cooperative Society Limited, registered in Apollo Bay, Victoria.

The tenancy is included in a major redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour as part of the Geelong City Deal grants scheme.

Following the completion of development works, the Authority is requesting that a new 21-year Crown land (Reserves) Act 1978 lease be directly awarded to The Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Cooperative for areas associated to commercial fishing and fish processing.

The lessee also requests that at the completion of development works at the Apollo Bay Harbour, that a new 21-year Crown land (Reserves) Act 1978 lease be directly awarded to the Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Cooperative, for a food and beverage operation within the precinct that enables the vertical integration of the Apollo Bay fishing industry i.e. local fishing catch to plate.

Crown land policy allows a Land Manager to negotiate directly with an incumbent lessee subject to meeting certain economic and prudential tests. Through public notification, the Authority is seeking any feedback from the public regarding this re-leasing proposal.

All submissions should be either mailed to the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority at 27 Baines Crescent, Torquay, 3228 or emailed to: haveyoursay@greatoceanroadauthority.vic.gov.au Submissions will be accepted until 7 June.

All submissions shall be treated in the strictest confidence.
