AUSMAP Workshop

At the start of February, our Education Activity Coordinator, Mel, attended an AUSMAP training workshop at Southern Ocean Environmental Link (SOEL) headquarters in Queenscliff.

Attendees included members from Take 3, SOEL, and EarthWatch, all eager to learn more about the problems with microplastics and what we can do to avoid them. The group also completed training on the microplastic surveying technique used by AUSMAP to collect data for the national database.

By identifying microplastic levels and hotspots, the group can focus on working with companies and land managers to reduce and prevent microplastics from getting into our waterways.
